S.D. Myers is offering intelligent transformer management solutions to a global audience in 2011. The concept will be introduced at the International Conference of Doble Clients.
Tallmadge, Ohio, March 21, 2011 – Since 1965, S.D. Myers has been a leader in the electric power service industry, providing diagnostic/analytical testing, engineering services and engineered products in an effort to keep power systems operating reliably.
Today, new challenges bring new solutions, solutions for the next generation.
In 2011 SD Myers is positioned as a global leader in transformer maintenance training and certification. The industry is currently experiencing a dramatic decline in transformer maintenance knowledge. The "boomer brain drain" that began after the turn of the century continues to leave large expertise gaps in an industry with a greater need for transformer knowledge than ever before, with aging transformers and substantially different manufacturing standards for new units. Transformer experts are retiring and in many cases it is difficult to replace their knowledge.
SD Myers is able to provide a bridge to that growing knowledge gap through the industry's most in-depth and comprehensive training and certification programs supported by the vast experience of their senior transformer specialists, lab chemists and consulting engineers.
While their new state of the art lecture hall, breakout classrooms, and transformer learning laboratory are impressive stateside, transformer maintenance workers across the world are also taking advantage of the opportunity and impact that quality training and certification courses can have on their careers. Offering classes and seminars not only in the US but also in Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Australia, SD Myers is positioned as the leader for transformer maintenance training and certification for the utility, power generation, industrial, municipal and co-op markets internationally.
SD Myers is also offering knowledge through the presentation of separate technical papers on two of the most serious problems plaguing transformer owners and operators today— gassing in wind farm transformers and transformer moisture remediation.
The technical papers on gassing and moisture will be presented at the International Conference of Doble Clients in Boston, MA on Wednesday March 30th and Friday April 1st, respectively. SD Myers will have a booth at the conference (#54) with transformer experts present to educate attendees on Intelligent Transformer Management and offer solutions to the challenges facing them today.
Doble conference booth visitors will also be given the opportunity to win one of four free Kindles that will be given away in a random drawing.
